About Lesson
A network is a collection of devices, such as computers, servers, printers, routers, and other hardware, that are connected together to exchange data and resources. Networks allow multiple devices to communicate and share information, making it possible to send emails, access websites, stream media, and more.
- Components of a Network:
- Devices: These include computers, smartphones, servers, printers, and other hardware that are part of the network.
- Transmission Medium: The physical medium through which data travels, such as cables (Ethernet), wireless signals (Wi-Fi), fiber-optic lines, etc.
- Protocols: A set of rules and conventions for communication between devices in a network.
- Network Interface: The hardware (e.g., a network card) that connects devices to the network.
Networks can be classified based on their size, design, and purpose, and they help with resource sharing, communication, and data exchange.
